Ananda worldwide launches web site for upcoming movie
25 July, 2011Assisi, Italy — To passionately tell the life story of the eminent and visionary intentional-community leader and teacher, Swami Kriyananda, Ananda Worldwide has placed a movie project into development, with the current working title of Islands of Happiness.
Ananda Village, Assisi, residents, Shivani Lucki and Nandini Cerri have formed Hansa Productions, Inc., to serve as Executive Producers. Noted Italian filmmaker, Roberto Bessi, is Producer.
Working from interviews with Swami Kriyananda and copious anecdotes from many of his books, especially A Place Called Ananda and his autobiography, The New Path, Los Angeles filmmaker, Ted Nicolaou, is writing the screenplay.
In April 2011, Nicolaou brought a film crew to Ananda Village, Nevada City, California, and spent five days interviewing and getting footage. Next up, in August, he will be filming at the Ananda Village in Assisi.
"We’re really excited about the prospects for bringing this story to the world," Cerri said. "Swamiji has touched the hearts of so many people all over the globe."
Lucki added, "The world is rapidly being transformed by the teachings of people like Swamiji and his guru, Paramhansa Yogananda. This is a great way to get our message of truth-seeking and community-building out to the largest number of people."
